As a Co-Founder of Magnetic Media, a digital signage network operator, my responsibilities included; forming the business, creating the branding and marketing materials, raising seed capital, securing media sales partners such as NextMedia to sell our Ad inventory. As a Director of Production Services and Senior Editor for Pro Sho, I was involved intimately in all aspects of event production including; directing multi-camera video productions, simulcasting, indoor and outdoor projection, equipment sourcing, rental services, site-inspection, installation, operation, engagement oversight, and various post production services from sound engineering to video editing. Highlights and notable projects included, Howard Sterns 5oth Birthday, Elton Johns AIDS awareness fundraiser at Capitale NYC and the West Indian African Day Festival in Brooklyn NY hosted by Borough President Marty Markowitz.
Founder, Event Producer
Final Frontier Productions
January 2000 – December 2002
As the Founder of Final Frontier Productions, I was responsible for all aspects of Event Development and Promotions for Electronic Music Events that were held in some of New York’s most revered venues including Club Exit and The Tunnel nightclub. Notable events included one of New York’s earliest Electronic Music Festivals called “Dark Side of the Moon” which featured 35 premiere Techno and House DJ’s including Frankie Bones and was attended by several thousand music fans. Our team also had the opportunity to convert a 3500 seat Vaudeville-era Theater, a building protected by NYC Landmark status, into a three tier nightclub for two EDM Events on Thanksgiving Eve and New Years dubbed Club Eden. At Final Frontier we developed the brand, event, graphics, promotions, handled construction, contracted with DJ’s, managed talent services, and staffed the events which were attended by thousands of fans.
For over 11 years I grew up on television playing the role of Tim Dillon on ABC’s hit daytime drama, “All My Children”. There I was privileged to co-star alongside James Kiberd, Kate Collins, Robin Mathison, Kelly Ripa, Sara Michelle Geller, Susan Lucci, and so many other wonderful souls that made up my TV family. In 1993 I won a Youth in Film Award for Best Actor in a Daytime Drama and in 1995 I was nominated for a Daytime Emmy as well as Hollywood Reporter’s Young Star award. While at AMC I performed in over 1000 episodes under my stage name Tommy Michaels Zerega.
Under my stage name Tommy Michaels, I played the role of Ari a junior-high student who along with his friend Jeremy are brutally beaten by a group of older guys. My character vowed revenge on Devin Retray who played “Cal”. Shooting this film was a fun experience – the make-up alone took hours everyday but its was all worth it. Not only did I get to work with one of my best friends at the time, James Villani, but I also worked alongside Selma Blair, Tom Lock, Brett Tabisel, and co-producer / cinematographer Dick Fisher. The Film directed by Mark Schiffer was nominated for Best American Indie Film in 1997 and won Best First Feature at the Long Island Film Festival in 1998.
Quiz Show is a 1994 American historical film produced and directed by Robert Redford. It stars John Turturro, Rob Morrow and Ralph Fiennes, with Paul Scofield, David Paymer, Hank Azaria and Christopher McDonald as supporting roles. The film chronicles the “Twenty-One” quiz show scandals of the 1950s surrounding the rise and fall of popular contestant Charles Van Doren (Ralph Fiennes). I played the Role of Tom, a young boy scout that has the opportunity to meet Van Doren on the Today Show. The scenes were shot in Rockefeller Center under the direction of Robert Redford. The film was nominated for several awards, including a Best Picture Oscar nomination and several Golden Globe Awards.
Gavroche (Lead Role)
Les Miserables – Theater
September 1990 – September 1991
Working as an actor under my stage name Tommy Michaels Zerega, I was privileged to have played the role of Gavroche in Les Miserables on Broadway. I performed at the Broadway Theatre and the Imperial Theatre, made a lot of friends and memories including riding on Cameron Mackintosh’s shoulders at the celebration of the show’s 5th year on stage! If you haven’t seen it, its one of the best shows in the world – trust me, don’t miss out!
Winfield Joad (Role)
The Grapes of Wrath, Steppenwolf Theatre Company
February 1990 – December 1990
The Grapes of Wrath is a 1988 play adapted by Frank Galati from the classic John Steinbeck novel of the same name, with incidental music by Michael Smith. The play debuted at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, followed by a May 1989 production at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego and a June 1989 production at the Royal National Theatre in London. After eleven previews, the Broadway production, directed by Galati, opened on March 22, 1990 at the Cort Theatre in New York City, where it ran for 188 performances. The cast included Gary Sinise, Kathryn Erbe, Terry Kinney, Jeff Perry, Lois Smith, Francis Guinan, and Stephen Bogardus. The show won the 1990 Tony Award for Best Play.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) – Film & Television
New York University – Tisch School of the Arts
1999 – 2003
At NYU I was privileged to be selected for the Film & Television Program at the Tisch School for the Arts which only graduates a few hundred students each year. It was a great experience for me, I will always appreciate the convenience of video after learning to shoot and then cut my own 16mm in black and white on a Steenbeck. At least they didn’t make us develop the film! While at NYU I took my electives in business law, science, film music, and astronomy, and was able to attend two semesters abroad studying in Florence, Italy where I fell in love with my wife (though she’s from the US).
New York State Regents Diploma
Curtis High School
1995 – 1999
When I was 14 I won an academic scholarship to an all boys Catholic High School on Staten Island, St Peter’s Boys. There I maintained a 97% GPA and was drafted for Varsity Soccer in Freshman year. I decided Catholic school was not for me at the end of the second semester and went back to public school where most of my friends had gone their freshman year. At Curtis I was in the International Baccalaureate Program with approximately 50 other students in a school of roughly 4000. There we had a special program and took accelerated classes including college level math, physics, history, and literature. I believe my participation in the “IB” program, as well as my athletic activities (Varsity Soccer, Swimming, and Wrestling) all contributed to my desire to always strive for the best no matter how small the task. As well as the desire to win and want to be part of a winning team – mediocre is not in my vocabulary. Fun Fact: When I was in fifth grade I missed 63 days of school while working on a the popular daytime dram “All My Children” by day and performing in Broadway’s Les Miserables at night.

A transparent LCD monitor can be layered with a custom optical element that covers a portion of the display surface to create a hybrid solution that is enabled to show 3D content (including both off-screen “pop” in front of the display and an immersive perception of depth behind the display) without the need for any special eyewear while maintaining a high degree of transparency in the unmodified portions of the display.
